Dorking Museum is preparing to commemorate the Great War.  We are trawling our archives and visiting the Surrey History Centre in Woking to amass information, concentrating on the effect the war had on local people and how it changed everyday life in Dorking.

I am researching a local farmhouse whose history goes back at least to the 14th century, and probably beyond.

 

Early Medieval Dorking

My next book will be about early medieval Dorking - between about 600 - 1200 AD.  At the moment, I'm stuck in the 7th century, so it's going to take a while....
